A gorgeous woman at a cafe/bar in Murcia. Ester, Bolivian native, and her equally attractive co-worker, Mery, made Kitch one of my favorite cafes. Also they had wifi and A/C, two other good reasons I came by for work.

A funny story with this:

I went to this restaurant for some cafe and toast. It was very hot so I wanted some iced coffee (cafe con leche y hielo). This was a Viennese Iced Mocha - something i usually get in the states at daily grind or starbucks. When the kid came out with the drink, it was this mega-dessert. Served in a milkshake glass with a ton of whipped cream (which i hate on my iced coffee) and chocolate bits on top. The waiter mistakenly handed it to another table which gardener a lot more attention from that table and other tables than i expected when i order this skyscraping drink. It was good but not what i was expecting for a late breakfast.

I saw Strobist showed some tips on how to make drop photographs. My friend, Jeremy Blaine, also did it. So I decided to join in the fun.

I had few drawbacks though - I cannot find the connector for my tripod and I do not have a radio slave at the moment. So, as usual, I had to improvise. I had to go freehand (hold the camera myself) and tethered the flash next to the bowl using a towel as a reflector. I was in my shower using a semi leaky faucet as my water source. The white shower walls were nice because it bounced the light nicely.

I'm pretty happy with this result. The thick glass of the container made for these neat colors. I would like to experiment some more with different surfaces and liquids;hopefully I can use my tripod. It would make this exercise so much easier.

On Sunday, I watch Gladiator then played ultimate frisbee in front of the Parthenon. I didn't realize the ancient Roman/ Greek coincidence until after work.

I saw that my sister had an old nikon 35mm camera from her days in college. The camera had a 50mm 1.8 aperture lens which fit my Nikon D300. It's manuel focus but still fun to use.

My niece, Ophelia, wearing a new dress my mom had bought also trying on my mom's bracelet using my sister's lens.

My Bronco II was donated to a local Buddhist temple.

This was the first car I ever had. My mom bought it in 2003 from an old family friend in Nashville. Actually, I used to be picked up from elementary school in this car.

I needed the Bronco for college - it became more and more difficult to pick up photo supplies and find better photo locations when you're limited by walking distance. I drove to many National Parks in this and had a few adventures. The loudest engine and the A/C hardly worked. It felt like a tank driving this thing, especially in the snow when the four-wheel drive was activated.

In 2005 she died on me during my drive back from Nashville to Shepherdstown. I was two hours away until she died in Staunton, Va. After a month and a few hundred bucks, my family and I realized that the 103K miles Bronco was too unreliable to drive on long commutes and I began to drive this. Which is the complete opposite but serviceable despite it's silly name - Breeze. It was no Bronco deuce and no car shall ever be like it. If I had plenty of money to blow off, I would of converted it to a veggie oil car or put in a brand new engine so that she'll keep going.

She's in greener pastures and for a good cause.
